ACER PAL KOTO ITO KOMACHI
Grower Notes:
Acer palmatum Koto Ito Komachi is commonly referred to as Koto Ito Komachi Japanese Maple. In Japanese, "Koto ito Komachi" translates as 'old harp string' or 'beautiful little girl'. It is quite fitting for this rare, unusual, slow-growing Japanese Maple with its thin, thread-like, slender, green leaves on dark purple stems. The wispy leaves are most like those in the Linearilobum Group and turn vivid yellow-orange-rose in fall.
Koto Ito Komachi Japanese Maple is hardy and can thrive in dappled sun in rich, loamy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Do not overwater. Ideal as a focal point in the landscape. Does well in containers too.
